The tiling industry has never been fully engineered. Until now.

01

The problem

Traditional tiling wastes 30–50% of material, takes days per bathroom, and depends entirely on the skill of the tiler on site. No two jobs are alike. Errors compound. Waste is inevitable.

02

The approach

Metric brings design, fabrication and install into a single, precise workflow. Every tile is placed digitally before it is cut. Every cut is made offsite. Every install begins with certainty.

03

The result

Faster jobs. Near-zero waste. Craftsmanship without the guesswork. Bathrooms delivered in a fraction of the time, with a precision that traditional methods can't match. And because every cut happens offsite, there is no cutting dust on site — no airborne silica, less noise, and a cleaner, safer job for every trade in the building.

Who's behind it

Metric is built by two co-founders from trade and technology backgrounds, working from Central Otago, New Zealand.

Where it's built

Our first hub is in Cromwell, Central Otago. More coming.

Tiling first. Everything after.
